Someday I will find someone to adventure with, and someone I am completely content doing absolutely nothing with too. Someone who can show me new things, tell me when I am wrong, and that can learn from me. Someone who can admit when they are wrong. Someday I will find someone who wants to explore the depths of my mind, and get to know even what I might not understand in there… Someone that can accept not being able to understand me all the time but appreciates me for who I am regardless.
We will see the world together. I will find a dreamer that can dream as big or bigger than I do, and who is also able to grasp reality and function day to day in a way that proactively makes even the smallest dreams come true. I will find someone that doesn’t want to hurt people… Someone honest.
Someone out there will be able to surprise me all the time, you know, keep me on my toes… And lift me off my feet and twirl me around in circles until we are both too dizzy to stand. I will find someone I can fall down around without judgment, and that I can lay next to for hours talking nonsense with. Someone who wants to see the sunrise sometimes.
Someone out there will find me, and not want to let me go. They will miss me when I am not around, but won’t mind be alone with themselves or leaving me be when I need space for personal growth. I will find someone to love unconditionally, trust with all my heart, and be loved by forever.
I think this is what they call a soul mate. Them, you know… The ones that tell us what is right and wrong, up and down, black and white… Without really ever explaining anything to us. Yes, I think eventually I will truly know what they mean.
Someday, darling, I will find you. When I do I will smile and you will be able to see every star in the sky shining at you through my eyes. For now though, I will find all of these things in myself, so that when you come along, I can be all that you deserve… And so that I will not go looking for you too soon. Once I find true happiness in myself, I will have more to share with the world… And just when I realize I need nothing else, you will be there, and we will be together.-Alice
